Long before Every Heart Matters became part of Chic by Christina, it was personal.
In 2021, my dad's heart stopped.

THE DAY EVERYTHING CHANGED
My dad was outside mowing his lawn when he suddenly collapsed.
A neighbor happened to arrive home and saw him go down. He had completed a BLS certification class only a month earlier. He immediately began CPR while his wife called 911.
Then a stranger driving by stopped to help.
Two people who had started that day with no idea they would become part of our family's story took turns performing CPR until help arrived.
My dad was defibrillated twice before being transported to the hospital, and three more times after he arrived. He was taken for an emergency cardiac catheterization.
He had suffered what many call a “widowmaker” heart attack.
And he survived.

SOMEONE CHOSE TO HELP
That day, people stepped into my dad's story who had no idea when they woke up that morning just how much they would matter.
A neighbor who knew CPR. A stranger who stopped to help. First responders and healthcare professionals who continued what they had started.
Each person played a part.
One person chose to act. Then another. And another.
And one heart continued beating — touching countless others along the way.
That is why I believe every heart matters.

I have always believed that caring for people can take many forms.
In healthcare, that care may look like holding a hand, advocating for a patient, or simply being there on a difficult day. Through Chic by Christina, it can take another form.
Every purchase supports the American Heart Association and the work they do for hearts, families, and the moments that matter.
For me, giving back isn't something separate from Chic by Christina.
It's part of its heart.
