A LITTLE ABOUT ME.
I’m Christina.
I’m usually the person listening before I’m talking. I’m shy until I’m comfortable, incredibly hard on myself, and I care very deeply about people.
I like things just right. I like routine. I follow the rules. I believe in fairness—probably more fiercely than most people realize. I tend to see things in black and white, although life has taught me there are a few shades of gray in there too.
I speak my mind. I believe honesty is almost always the best place to start. I love learning, I love change, and I’m constantly curious about what might be next.
My house is very clean, very minimal, and has almost nothing sitting around just for the sake of sitting around. My yard is manicured. I run. I read. I eat pretty simply. I’m about as low-maintenance as they come.
And then there’s how I dress.
That’s where all the color went.
Black is my favorite color, but somehow I’ve always lived in color. Jewelry, clothes, shoes—if it catches my eye, I’ll wear it. Leopard print is basically a neutral. I cut my hair short. I wear the big earrings. I pile on the jewelry.
For someone who can be pretty quiet, I’ve never been particularly quiet about how I show up in the world.
Maybe that’s part of why Chic by Christina makes so much sense to me.
I’ve spent my professional life caring for people in healthcare. I listen. I advocate. I pay attention to the person in front of me. And somewhere along the way, I realized that caring for people can happen in more than one way.
Sometimes it happens through medicine.
Sometimes it happens through conversation.
And sometimes, maybe, it happens by creating something that gives another woman the freedom to simply choose what feels like her.
Oh—and I’m terrified of flying.
And spiders.
My husband handles the spiders.
Some things are nonnegotiable.
